Gus Solomons
Gus Solomons jr is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. After earning a degree from MIT in architecture, he danced with Donald McKayle, Pearl Lang, Martha Graham, and Merce Cunningham. From 1972-1994, Gus was an experimental choreographer, directing The Solomons Company/Dance, which toured the national university circuit. In 1994, Gus founded PARADIGM, a repertory company for dancers over fifty, which is currently performing and touring. Since 1994, Gus has been on the faculty of the NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, where he is now a full arts professor, teaching technique, improvisation, and composition. He is also a freelance dance writer and reviewer.
